No review for food cause it isn’t a restaurant - its a great place to do fun crafts. This was my second visit - and my daughter’s first. We each drank some Seltzer since it was the middle of the afternoon. My daughter did the macrame plant hanger and I did the macrame wall art. Great instruction and Lee the wonderful staff person, helped and guided as needed. We each had a great time and would recommend it for a date night or an outing with friends.
We went to DIY Bar to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and I have no regrets! It was so much fun. The craft and sip projects are self-guided but the staff are more than happy to help. We chose the string art project and thoroughly enjoyed it! Great selection of drinks too. We plan to return for sure!
I didn't know about DIY bar and I found a workshop through Instagram. It was SO MUCH fun. The crowd was lively but not obnoxious. The activity was focused but not austere. The staff was personable. There was beer. I went for a scheduled cookie decorating workshop, but I can't wait to go back for one of their regularly available activities. The work tables are well stocked and well lit. As a major plus, there was parking! (which is an embarrassing barrier to entry of me going anywhere.)
I took my staff here for our holiday party and we had such a great time! I brought in pizza from Mississippi pizza and cupcakes from Saint Cupcakes and they had a spot at the bar for me to set up our food near our tables. It was fun and festive, just what we had hoped for. Milly was so helpful and patient as we wrapped up our crafts (we were a little down to the wire time-wise--too much chatting while crafting). Such a lovely experience and a great way to spend time together while also having something to do!
This place was AWESOME! My sister and I got it as a gift to our mom for her birthday. It was the perfect night out with family. Very easy to follow instructions, all the tools you need, and a comfortable atmosphere. Not too crowded/busy/crammed. We had our own table and everything we needed! Will probably be back with friends and do a different project. Highly recommend.
My friend and I had a great time at the DIY Bar in Portland. There is a great variety of projects to choose from and the workshop space feels very welcoming. After you choose your project, you get a bag with all of your materials and very clear directions. The staff is there to help you if needed. It was an awesome experience to create and have quality friend time while enjoying a drink. Highly recommend!
My friends and I had a great time here! The craft options were the right blend of accessible and engaging. Milly was working that night and she was super kind, funny, and helpful. Nice selection of drinks, too. I will definitely be back!
This is such a cool place. Large and full of tables you reserve for blocks of time. In that time you create a craft from a menu provided. You pick one and DIY Bar has all of the materials you need to complete your project. Each project comes with step by step instructions that include pictures.The people working there walk around asking if you need help, offer you tools to help your project, and give you reminders about how much time you have left.
Most of the tables are bar height but two are lower and I would hope are accessible for wheelchairs. Parking is relatively good with free street parking in the blocks surrounding the location.
They serve a menu of drinks ranging from wine, beer, and non alcoholic drinks. No food though.
This place accommodates small and large groups. While my friend and I were there, the other groups consisted of a birthday and bachelorette party. Very cool concept and would definitely go here again.
